Other Artists Work I've Acquired ...

I was inspired to do this post by David Petersen. He posted art that he'd gotten from people on his blog ... which you can see HERE.

I liked the post and decided to do one of my own. The First images I'm going to post are going to be art done by Jonathon Gordon. He's become a great friend of mine. We hang out almost every Tuesday for a Movie/Draw day. (sometimes more movie that draw ... shhhh!) Anyway, the two pieces I'm going to share with you were done by Jon to showcase his talent for Commission work at Mid-Ohio Con. He was kind enough, at the end of the weekend to give them to me. So, I'm very happy to have them!

Next is Jay Jacot. He's become a great friend too, in fact all of the people I've chose to post are good friends and L.A.D.D.ies. When I was putting together my first full size comic E.G.G. "The Trouble With Dames", Jacot was the guy who gave me the most support and inspiration for the work. He did one of the pin-ups for the back of it and then he presented me with the original line work. So here the line work is ...

Third ... is done by Dean Stahl. I just love what Dean has done with his work. He has definately pushed himself to become a very good artist in the comic medium. His style is a great throw back to the 70-80's style of Marvel/DC before the whole Image boom hit. I love it. I commissioned Dean to do a piece for my wife for her birthday. This is that piece. Thanks Dean! Great Job! She loves it!

Lastly, is a piece done by Ryan Claytor. This is a super special piece that Ryan drew into my wifes Birthday/Halloween card. It is of him and his significant other, Candace, all dressed up in their Halloween Costumes!

Mouse Guard!

So, I'm a huge fan of David Petersen and what he does as far as his work. Mouse guard is gorgeous ... and the stories are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Besides that, the man is a very cool and down to Earth guy! I've had the great chance to speak with him on many occassions. Being from the same state as him is in my favour ... so I submit to you my Mouse Guard picture! ...

E.G.G. News ... monday oct. 19th.

Not a lot on the news for today, but I did want to share that you can still get copies of "The Trouble With Dames". Just email us at edwardggunn@gmail.com if interested. You can still purchase the Issue of Shrunken Wool comics No. 5 featuring one of our short stories ..."Daisies and Deadmen". In addition to that, TWO FOLD COMICS is going to be releasing a Trade with all (or maybe just their favourites) the comics ever released in the Shrunken Wool Comics so far. This is exciting news for us because "Daisies and Deadmen" is going to be in that trade. YAY! So, keep an eye out for that! You can see Shrunken Wool via TWO FOLD COMICS both HERE! on Blogger and HERE! on Myspace.

We are def. attending Fantasticon on Sunday, Nov. 8th @ the Emerald Theatre in Mt. Clemens, MI. Event is $5.00 for the day. Opens at 11:00am and goes to 5:00pm. We would love to see our friends out at this event!

Keep an eye on the websight. More news to come soon, me thinks!

New Take On Old Designs ...

I'm a tattoo fan, (obviously) so I've had an itch lately to reinvent some classic tattoo art. Below you will see what I've done today. I hope you all enjoy the work as much as I.

Pulp Noir

So, I get bored drawing in one particular style ... I love to draw High-Contrast Black and White images in a Noir style ... This one was quite the challenge for me. I like how it turned out, though. Hopefully, someone will want to purchase this piece at the Mid-Ohio Con. We'll see ...

NoirArt01Small

Can anyone guess what old pulp tale this is based off? That's right, it's a piece with Art by Jack Kirby! Brilliant man that he was. My own variation, but still based on it for the most part.
